“IMAGINE WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF THE REST OF YOUR PEOPLE PERFORMED LIKE YOUR BEST PEOPLE”

When our children are young, we teach them the basics of living like how to tie shoes and later instruct them on more complex tasks such as bicycle riding. Because tying our shoes is so automatic, adults struggle to break down this simple task into its basic steps so that we can teach our youngsters. As we grow older, some of us became experts in fields such as music, science, and sales. Interestingly, experts have the same difficulty teaching others. Experts when asked how they perform such expertise frequently reply, "I don't know, I just do it".

The reason is interesting. Recent brain research shows that expertise is stored in what is called procedural memory and defies understanding of the steps necessary to create this expertise. This is why many experts fail to become great first line managers. They simply cannot teach others what they do because they cannot access the steps that must be taught to create new experts. Expertise is literally beyond our consciousness.

Typical processes in use today in most organizations fail to uncover the steps that create expertise thereby decreasing opportunities for employees to grow dramatically. To pry these steps from the unconsciousness of experts, our proprietary processes uncover these step-by-step activities that are required to create expertise. Once these steps are uncovered, the manager can be taught how to teach direct reports to dramatically improve performance through expertise.

Our comparison processes as well as instruction and coaching assure that individuals reach their full capability.
